Thank you, 2025 Grant Sponsor,
Wisconsin Horse Council!
In 2025, the Wisconsin Horse Council Trail Committee supported the SKMHTA and our local trails and camp with $5,000 in Trail Grant funds! $3,000 was granted for adding more permanent, 12x12' Priefert Premium corrals to Horseriders' Campground, and $2,000 was awarded for footing materials to make the new corrals mud free with a solid base to hold up to heavy use and weather.
Please visit: https://www.wisconsinhorsecouncil.org/ to learn about the many ways they support Wisconsin equine activities: scholarships & grants, certified judge programs, horse trail design school, ride/drive programs, representing equestrians in legislature, bringing us the amazing Midwest Horse Fair and so much more!
Thank you, 2023 Grant Sponsors!

Thank you DNR, 2022 Grant Sponsor!
In 2022, the SKMHTA was awarded the DNR - Parks and Recreation Management Enhancement Project Grant in the amount of $5,000 to be used for footing materials in permanent corrals! Our local DNR crew worked hard to prepare, level and construct footings that drain well and hold up to the weather, providing safe and mud free horse containment areas. Thank you to the local branch and special thanks to Don Dane for all his help and hard work!
Thank you 2018 Corral Project Sponsors!
In 2018, the SKMHTA spearheaded a project to begin adding permanent corrals to Horseriders' Campground. Many, many local individuals, associations and clubs supported this project with generous donations and grants. The corral improvements were a huge success, and have encouraged those who found highlines daunting to try their hand at camping, bringing new life to our trails! Special thanks go out to American Endurance Ride Conference (AERC), the Friends and Family of Rose Turniske, WI Horse Council, Richard & Cheri Haviza, For Pets' Sake Veterinary, Dr & Mrs Steven Falk, Amber Erickson and the Bonecrusher Endurance Ride, Joam & James Petit (for Shirley Krambs), Distance Riding Association of Wisconsin (DRAW), SWIFT Riders, Hags on Nags and Donna Whitehouse for their generous contributions to this project!
